Hey team is me again Steven from south Africa sorry to bother you again I just need a answer quick my monitor dell 75hz 5ms response time with a nvidia rtx 2070 no it’s not a super and no I don’t have the make of it sorry I have looked all over that thing but to the point. I really want to get me a 1440p 144hz monitor BUT I do not know if my GPU wil get toe 144fps on 2K so Im asking what do you think save up for a better GPU or get a 144hz monitor to run on 1080p.
Your imput will be so much help.
Thank you
Hi Steven. A lot of this would depend on what settings you’re using in-game and what your other PC specs are. If you played with all your settings on low then getting 144 FPS would be doable at 1080p, but you would struggle to see those numbers consistently at 1440p. To put this in perspective, I have a rig with an i7-8700k and RTX 2080 and on my 1440p monitor I usually see frames around 110-160 FPS in Warzone, on low-ish settings.
Something to bear in mind is that you have the luxury of modularly upgrading your PC – you don’t have to jump in and do everything at once. One possible route would be to purchase the monitor first and use it with your current CPU/GPU, adjusting your game settings to prioritize frames, and later down the line (once 30 series GPU availability gets better and you’ve saved up) you could look at upgrading the GPU, if required.
I’m running a 2070 and can consistently run high 130s fps on all games with a little tweaking in setting
Hi team! Thanks in advance for your time and answers!
I have been visiting this website for about a week several times to understand how to maximize my in game experience.
I have recently made the big switch from console to pc and have to confess it’s hard for me to get used to and especially find the right settings since I’m not very good with computers hehe
I’m not sure if the settings I have are bad or if it’s a matter of AMD Radeon Software but many people say it shouldn’t be my hardware the issue. My problem is that even getting 200fps and dropping to max 190, I’m getting a lot of “lag” when in gunfights and entering/exiting houses. Makes the game very annoying when fighting. It’s also the reason I got my new monitor but not sure if I actually spent money for nothing. If you have any tips or advice to make my gaming experience smoother.
PS: I look for performance over quality
My specs :
Ryzen 9 5900x
AMD Ryzen 6900 xt
Crucial Ballistix cas16 DDR4 4x8go RAM 32gb 3600mhz
Monitors ASUS VG279Q1A 1ms 165hz FHD
Receiving a new monitor this week 1440p@144hz
Let me know if you need more information on the specs.
Thank you all!
Hey there Omar. Well on paper it certainly doesn’t seem that your hardware should be the reason for your lag issues, since you have top-of-the-line specs. To attempt to confirm this, have you tested the PC with any benchmarking software to ensure there isn’t a manufacturing issue with any component?
Can you elaborate more on the lag problems you’re having, ie. does the FPS drop when experiencing the lag? Is this happening in any other game that you have installed? Are you connected to your internet via ethernet or wireless? Additionally, have you tested to see if you’re experiencing any packet loss through your internet provider?
If it’s not internet related then often it can be a setting that’s causing the problem. As a starting point, make sure you have V-Sync disabled and try limiting Warzone’s FPS to match your monitor (144 or 165). If non of this works, feel free to link us a video/screenshots of your current in-game settings and we can see if anything stands out.
You guys are amazing! Thank you so much for your time!
I just bought a new monitor (LG Ultragear 27GN800-B), maybe the issue was from the monitor! I will try to play and make some tests to see how it feels.
What would be an expected result for these benchmarks because I was running 3dmark but can’t really analyse the results since I don’t know much about PCs.
I’ll be happy so share my screenshots ?
Once again thank you for your time and answer!
Hey guys, just to keep you updated, Tim currently uses the HyperX Cloud Alpha S headset and the HyperX Fury S Pro XL mousepad ??
